The World Automotive Industry Meets at “Automechanika Istanbul on 4 - 7 April!

Turkish Automotive Industry will be demonstrating its strength, sustainability and new technologies in Istanbul.

Automechanika Istanbul, the world’s 3rd largest exhibition for the automotive industry opened its doors today, attended by over 1400 companies from 36 countries. The organisation held in İstanbul at TÜYAP Exhibition and Congress Centre in cooperation with the world’s leading trade fair organisers, Hannover Fairs Turkey and Messe Frankfurt Istanbul, started today following a magnificent opening. The meeting point of important buyers from Turkey and all over the world, the Automechanika Istanbul is the world’s 3rd largest trade fair for the automotive industry after Shanghai and Frankfurt. Attracting attention with the special seminars and sessions within the scope of the exhibition, Automechanika Istanbul has an important place in the Turkish automotive industry, which is preparing to produce its own automobile. The exhibition can be visited at the TÜYAP Exhibition and Congress Centre between 4-7 April.

Automechanika Istanbul, the largest meeting platform for Turkey’s automotive industry, the country’s champion in exports, has brought the entire industry together for the 13th time. At the trade fair organised with the support of the Ministry of Trade and the Uludağ Union of Automotive Industry Exporters, and through the cooperation of Messe Frankfurt Istanbul and Hannover Fairs Turkey, the Turkish automotive industry exhibited its latest-technology products and services. Along with new product groups, this year Automechanika Istanbul gives the opportunity to local and international companies to promote their innovative products at areas dedicated for Parts & Components, Maintenance & Repair, Accessories & Tuning, Lubricants, Tyres and Wheels, Batteries, E-mobility and Car Wash & Maintenance Centre.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Automechanika Istanbul, which will continue at the Beylikdüzü Tüyap Congress and Exhibition Centre until the evening of 7 April, Hannover Fairs Turkey Fuarcılık General Manager Alexander Kühnel pointed out that the automotive industry is a very important part of the economy thanks to the contributions it makes to the manufacturing industry and exports, and that the country’s competitive strength will increase with the realization of the domestic automobile project and said: The relationship of the automotive industry with other manufacturing industries, and the contribution it makes, the added value and employment it generates, and its leading character, increase the industry’s strategic importance. Exporting 80 percent of its production, the Turkish automotive industry’s exports target for 2019 has risen to 32 billion Dollars. Having made a 10 billion-Dollar contribution to automotive exports last year, the automotive supply industry has increased its exports target this year to 12 billion Dollars. The path to render sustainable the momentum of the Turkish automotive industry, which has become a recognised and trusted brand thanks to its increasing product quality and competitive strength, goes through strengthening its commercial cooperation through new investments and partnerships. In terms of both participants and visitors, Automechanika is among the trade fairs with the greatest international potential. And it is a significant opportunity for Turkey's industry to demonstrate its power to the rest of the world”.

Underlining that Automechanika Istanbul is the world’s 3rd largest trade fair for the automotive industry, Messe Frankfurt Istanbul Managing Director Tayfun Yardım stated that the fair continues to grow each year along with the Turkish automotive industry, and said:

“In 1971, Automechanika started out with the motto “Everything that triggers a vehicle”, today is the most successful trade fair brand in the world with 17 events carried out in 16 countries. As the 3rd biggest automotive industry fair in the world, Automechanika Istanbul; each year, continues its growth. Last year, we hosted 1351 exhibitors in 38 thousand sqm in 13 Halls. This year, we are proud to mention that, we have 1400 exhibitors from 36 countries. In addition, we also have an increase in the number of pavilions which was 12 in last edition is increased to 16 pavilions with the participation of Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Slovakia and Thailand.”

Buyers’ Delegation Groups from the Entire Country and All Over the World are at Automechanika Istanbul!

Bringing together all automotive production and repair professionals of Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, South America, and the CIS, Automechanika Istanbul became the main platform for the automotive industry on 3 continents. At the exhibition, the country pavilions of important trade centres, such as Germany, the Czech Republic, China, Indonesia, Morocco, Malaysia, Iran, Spain, Italy, Korea, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Slovakia and Taiwan will come together with participating companies, providing the opportunity for new business deals.

Within the support of “Buyers’ Delegation Programme” 37 Delegation Groups from 7 countries, particularly from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, will be hosted at the exhibition, while 130 busses from 34 provinces carrying purchasing groups will pay a special visit with the cooperation of chambers of commerce and professions from all over Turkey. The fair, the international participation rate of which is 50%, was visited by 46 thousand industry professionals from 120 countries last year, which was resulted in many important business contacts. Bringing many international buyers together with the participating companies, Automechanika Istanbul also provides all domestic and foreign companies wishing to invest in the markets of neighbouring countries with the opportunity of establishing new contacts.

The Vision of the Industry’s Future Will Be Discussed!

The exhibition, which will be attended by all stakeholders of the industry such as logistics, composite, raw material producers, IT solutions, chemicals and mould producers, along with automotive production and repair products groups, will feel the pulse of the automotive industry. At the fair, in which the Automechanika Academy conference, seminar and workshop programmes will be given ample time, specialists from the industry will hold conferences and presentations on the latest trends, innovations, and projections for the future. At the E-Mobility Forum Area designed as another special part of the fair, the future of the Automotive industry, and its connection to the present will be discussed for 4 days.

Women in the Automotive Sector will be discussed for the first time in Automechanika Istanbul

At the fair that will be hosting many events, supplementary programmes and special promotion areas, various seminars, workshops and events will be organised with the presentations of specialist speakers. Attracting attention with its international top-quality contents and conferences that add colour to the industry every year, this year Automechanika Academy will discuss the role of women within the industry. Leading woman executives of the Turkish automotive industry will speak at the “Women in the Automotive Industry; “Women Talk” Panel to be organised with the cooperation of KAGİDER.

Conferences and seminars entitled “Car Maintenance and Car Washing Training Sessions,” “Electric Vehicle Teams Meeting,” “Digital Communication Technology in Automotive, and Automotive Networking Systems” are among events to which the visitors are looking forward. The Chamber of Mechanical Engineers will organise the “Electric Vehicle Teams Meeting” and a one-day “Training Programme.” Among other firsts, the “6th OSS Conference,” and the “Electric Vehicles Recharging Stations,” which attract much attention every year, will once more take place under the Automechanika Academy.
